Hi there, thanks for your interest in commissioning my work. The process of working together as artist and client is organic and it takes a little back and forth communication. I will be collecting some basic informations in this form to jump off of. Once I review and accept your proposal I will email you and ask you for reference photos and additional questions. Every family portrait is deeply personal and unique, I want to make sure I am capturing your story and ideas and creating something special for you!
I hope you are familiar with my work and style already, I’d like to make you 9x12 full colored gouache paintings. When I was thinking about pricing I realize it cannot be fixed, every portrait will be different amount of details and time requirement to finish, I'd like to discuss it with you. What I can offer is this, the range of pricing would fall somewhere in this ballpark: $300-500. I will finalize a quote once we have our initial email communication.
For this season of commissions I will be donating half of what you pay me to 3 organizations focusing on decolonization, restorative justice and helping homeless families (info below). Please know that I am not hiking my prices up so I can donate the money, this is my regular price range and I am trying my best to make this as affordable as possible because I'd like people to have art in their home.
There are a million things you can donate to in every given moment and so many important work needs funding, these are some efforts I have been hoping to donate to. I did a lot of research and have followed these people for quite some time and they are trustworthy in what they do, I tried to find efforts that are direct actions led by people who have direct ties in the community they are trying to raise funds for instead of big corporations doing charity to alleviate guilt. Please check them out and also follow them on social media, they are really amazing and valuable resources.

“With appointments costing $80-$250 per session the more funds we collect the more black women we can say “We see you, we hear you, we too are invested in your healing." I am raising funds to sponsor therapy sessions for as many black women as our collective donations can support.”
